I think checking with a timing light and calling Apexi would be a good idea. Maybe they did this to make up for something like the time it takes to calculate and send signals back and forth between the ecu and engine hardware. Maybe the computer and signals have to be sent earlier at the high rpms to get there at the same engine degree and this was thier way to make up for that.

It will be interesting to see what Apexi says if someone can get a hold of a tech that knows what they are talking about.

In way it might be a mute point, except for documentation accuracy.

Kyle and I started off with starter maps and tuned, including advancing timing until knock levels started to creep up. Then we reduced those high cells. Continued testing in diferent weather conditions for summer and winter, differences in humidty, and fuel. Whenever cells got higher knock, we lowered them 1 or 2 degrees. Now we have maps for our engine that are fine under all conditions.

What does it matter if the cell has 17 but is ready running 19? We have it tune.
True, I would rather have it do what it says it is suppose to do because I am a fanatic!!!!!*&^^&%^%$

If still using default settings it should be N10-N20 less one degree and gain N12 or N13-N20 less one degree again.

I went ahead and made those adjustments to my computer until something is figured out on this issue,

I seriously doubt it.....it's not a linear increase of timing. it simply goes up 1 degree @ exactly4krpm and again @ 5krpm.
Like I mentioned.....it's possible that many of us are safe with their ign numbers but for those who are pushing the limits then its a good to know !!!

Anybody else with PowerFc and Datalogit did the same test???
change all of Lead map to 10 degrees and 10 degree split....and just rev the motor..
