Just wanted to say that the new engine harness trick doesn't always work. I just installed a new motor, harness and a PowerFC.

The AC system didn't work at all. We ran multiple tests and the PFC was the problem. I did some research and found which wires were needed be jumped.

Now I have other issues. The cooling fans don't work in blower fan speeds 1 and 2. Also the compressor doesn't cycle.

Anyone have the same problem?

my a/c works now, after following the instructions that came w/ my ECU regarding the wires to cut, i realized one of the wires was the yellow/black wire which is the ground from the a/c clutch...

i restored this connection and all works great now

Has anybody else tried this also? Reconnecting that wire? I just got my A/C back to gether and am planning on charging it in a couple days. I have not had an A/C since I got the PFC so I would really like it to work. San Antonio with no A/C is comparible to hell.

i am going to try to re-establish the connection for the yellow/brn wire to get A/C back. Mine does not work on settings 2,3,4. My problem is this, the pins are cut, not the wires, I need to find a wiring harness, (e.g. computer cable/ motherboard) w/ the same pins to re-solder. OR alternatively FIND someone with a blown PFC that I can cannibalize for the pins.

SO...... if anybody has a pfc paperwieght and would like to ship it to me on my dime, My life, the forums life would be grateful for restoring this simple pleasure we enjoy, AC.

I put everything back together on my AC ond charged with duracool, and it worked great. No problems with the PFC. And I highly recommend Duracool to anyone that doesn't want to do the conversion. Its cheap and works well.

Also, for what it's worth, I just noticed that the A/C actually works for all my fan settings (it blows cold air), it just doesn't illuminate the A/C sensor on the sensor page in any of the settings other than fan speed 1.

93BlackFD and JPJ, are you saying that both of you re-established the black/yellow wire that was originally cut to fix the AC - am I right here?

No I didn't have to reconnect anything. I put the coolent in, turned it on, and it worked. I think it might only work on setting 4 though. Im just happy something is working.
