powerFc on 2nd gen. engine

i 've just fitted a 88 13bt on my 1st gen.i decided to use an aftermarket ecu cause i want to get rid of all those emission stuff(air-pump,bac,acv,solenoids etc.).
i did a search about powerfc and i only found a kit for 3rd gen.
is it possible to make it work on a 2nd gen. engine.
if yes what accessoires and mods are needed?
any suggestion should help.

it is a 3rd gen specific kit. it controls everything along with ac and whatnot. you would have to use an engine and wiring harness from a 3rd gen. just get a haltech or electromotive. they are just as good if not better.

They have a Power FC for use on a 2nd gen RX7, BUT it's only available from Japan.

I know this is an old *** thread, I did a search and found it. lol

Anyways, I have a 87 turbo II, I was woundering if any of you have ever seen or heard of this being done: I want to use a FD lower and upper intake manifold and the primary fuel rail cause it uses side feed injectors, and use the stock turbo II secondary fuel rail cause you mod 1600cc injectors to fit it. I was thikning if I did that, I could go on and use a FD front cover and wiring harness and use a power FC instead of having to get a non-"plug and play" ECU like haltech or microtech. I'm just not sure if the FD wiring harness will work with stuff like the turbo II gauges and the reverse light plugs that are on the tranny in a FD and ect ect.

ANY INPUT WOULD BE GREAT!!!

Just picked up this thread, i was wondering, since the ignition system on the FCs is somewhat different than on the FD, a power FC ordered for an FD would not work because of this.

Also, i have seen here an imported FC turbo engine from japan that had a power FC with it, and noticed the Power FC had 4 connectors on it just like the FD's ECU and an adapter harness. So, what i wanna know is, is that Power FC specifically for an FC, or for an FD and then someone changed the ignition coil connections so it would work with like the FD's, since this is what you might have to do if you where to buy a Power FC for a 2ng gen.

My 2 cents.

there are no specific pfc for a fc. only fd ones that was modified for a fc. that would only be all the wiring harness crap wired around right. i believe if u bought the ap eng. pfc for the fc, they would include instructions on how to make the ingition work, plus, they would prob include the manifold pressure sensor (or w/e its called). i had a whole site japanese site translated and it had everything about the ignition. im pretty sure it was supposed to be a simple thing such as rewiring a couple things in the coil.

Well thats just it, its not that simple, you would need to probably get 2 additional leading igniters, since the trailing coil pack uses that "toggle selection" styled igniter to alternate the one trailing signal from the ECU to both coils. Thats how i would do it.

I think the factory 3rd gen ECU fires the coils directly, i've never seen igniters on a 3rd gen car. Maybe thas it, the PFC has built in igniters in the ECU so the real solution would be to get a coil pack from an FD.

Confusing aint it.

I have the AP Engineering PowerFC for FC, I plugged it in and the car started immediately. Nothing needed to be done. When you boot it up, it even says 13bt instead of 13b-rew.

I have a pfc datalogit and can program it myself.

I've removed it from the car however and I'm gonna start parting everything out.

I paid $1500 or so.

Worth it, its the only standalone that works with the oil metering pump. I hate premixing.

Yes, I'll be selling the pfc. Whoever is interested is welcome to PM me. I'm keeping the datalogit for my FD, sorry. They're readily available however.

A friend in Japan picked it up for me.
