Power Fc wont give out any spark

i have a 93 7 and had a power fc. i currently just replaced it with the stock ecu because the power fc suddently stopped working, giving no spark to any of my spark plugs. i have changed my ignitor, thinking that it could have caused the problem, but it was not. so, like i have stated, i changed it back to the stock ecu, which only allows me to start it, flooring it or driving it is impossible. the car starts backfiring or lags in the process of raising the rpms. if anyone can help me out with any info, otherwise i might have to save up for another ecu. thanks.

If the crank angle sensors on the front of the motor are gapedto far away from the crank angle sensor plate the power fc will not read the pulses ,but the stock ECU can read the weaker single .The clearence should be.039-.078 in . The closer the better and be sure the plate, wheel is running true .Put shims behind the sensors to get them as near to the wheelas you can .do not let them touch .

The car did not change ,but a large clearance will keep a Power FC from running .hard to find the correct fix from so far away .

Garfinkle, OP states that he was running on the PFC previously. Something must have changed.

may i also say that all the sensors seem to still be working that the pfc picks up on the commander, but i am to believe that the pfc itself is broken.

PFC's VERY rarely go out, unless something Way Bad happens, like a short in the wiring harness or something. If nothing else, throw in a stock ECU and see if the car will run.

It could be any number of things - damaged wiring harness, bad coils, bad plug wires or plugs, damaged wiring to the crank angle sensors, something fell into the main pulley and bent the trigger ring for the crank angle sensor so it won't pick up a signal.... You just have to troubleshoot on down the line.

Sound like my S-5 turbo, when the electric omp went out. Sent the car/ecu into limp mode. It will start up and idle fine. But basically you can't rev it up or drive it with any speed. Oh yea it also fried the ecu.

Lol Garco you were right. dang so happy right now. i tried doing what you suggested about putting the sensor closer to the plate, but then i found out that the crank bolt that held the center main pulley was coming loose, and the gap was too far apart. Thank you guys so much. damn happyness

So it ends up being engine assembly error.
