power FC timing maps....

hey guys,

i'm getting my vehicle tuned this coming friday and was wondering if any of you had screen shots of your timing maps, i believe mine is out of whack although it was a tune that had been uploaded....

i heard alot about 12degree split, something at peak torque, etc, any help would be greatly appreciated!...

my mods are as stated, S5 TII keg with large street port, BNR3 turbo, full RB exhaust, 550cc primaries and 1600cc secondaries, if anyone has a tune that i could download and give to the tuner for him to work off of i would be very appreciative!!!!

thanks in advance guys!!!!

here are some general guidlines. as RPM's go up so does timing. as boost goes up timing goes down.

a general rule is no more then 15 degree's at 15 psi. run the timing flat at peak torque which is usually around 6000- 7000 (6500)rpm on a rotary. then increase timing a few degrees as the rpms go up from there (7000- 8000). Increase the timing about 1 degree per 1 psi drop in boost.

I am not an expert but i have done all my own tuning, read alot of tuning information and studied dozens of maps for the rx7. I have a very similar thread with some screen shots of my IGN maps though they have been slightly altered since then. There is some good information from some tuners in that thread.

good advice so far, but what about the timing split?, i heard between the leading and trailing there should be a minimum of atleast 14degrees, trailing being the lower of the two....

input?...

i run a max of 12 split in the normal high boost, my last P row is 15 split as a safety for overboost. other areas i run 10 and 8 split as boost starts coming on. in vacuum i run 3 split.

Here is your thread. If you can't find a thread and you posted in it, just go to the upper part of the screen where it says "new posts" and in the drop down box click "find my posts" or if you started the thread "find my threads"

You stated that your car was going to be tuned Friday. This implies that someone else was going to do it. Thus the tuner should supply the map and you should not need one for free from anyone.

i was just wondering if you guys had any advice with tuning the vehicle, i'd like to know for myself how to tune the thing, for my own knowledge....

and i was also seeing if anyone has a base map i could tune off of and adjust, the tuner doesent have one for an FC, only FD's....

AFAIK, everything ought to work just fine for an FC using an FD base map except there'll be a need to double-check the MAP sensor offset and scaling as well as making sure the CAS is zero'd out properly (need to override idle function and set IGL to -5, let the engine idle, the adjust the CAS to line up on the 5*ATDC marker on the front pulley).
