Any body got a look at the Power FC Pro yet?

I am in the process of building a 13bt FB and was looking to use the power FC as my ECU. when I went to order one locally they told me that they were no longer making the power FC but had moved on to the Power FC Pro.

anybody know if the FC Datalogit will work with it?

any suggestions. I am seriously considering buying a used power FC as the price tag for the new unit over here is about 2500.00 installed and set (thats the only way they claim they will sell it) seems like they are trying to make it as unuser friendly as the HKS FCON V and VPro are.

Im not sure, but i thought that the FC Pro stuff was just apexi's version of the datalogit. It might be different in japan.

thats a thought, casue it comes with software to tie it into a PC but from what i understand it is pretty much locks the general user out of most of its functions, unless you have a particular code that allows you to unlock the stuff (dealers only maybe?) and 2500.00 is a big freaking difference from

power FC w/commander 1000.00~1500.00 (depending upon where you buy it)
datalogit 350.00?

so 1850 high side price for the old, and 2500.00 for the new with a base map installed, and some adjustments to match to your particular setup (not a complete tuning sesion though).

I don't know, I am afraid to spend 2500.00 and find out that damn thing is as unfriendly of a beast as the FCON V

These units have two additional functions over the regular units:

1. Ignition cut used for rpm limiter - Regular Power FCs cut fuel feed when the preset revolution limit is reached. At high rpm, there is the possibility of knocking when the fuel is cut in high-powered cars. The Power FC Pro Spec.CPUs cut ignition at the rpm limit to prevent the knocking that could potentially destroy the engine.

2. 0km/h rpm limiter setting - Allows for the setting for an initial rpm limiter that is active whilst the car is not in motion. This allows for mainting a rpm level for consistent launches.

datalogit should work with both and your tuner should as well. i would see no legitmate reason for them not supporting or selling the normal powerfc version ?

they are not selling the AP modified version for the power fc here anymore, (supposedly)

now this could be a load of crap as the shops sometimes try **** like this to get you to spend more money. The tuner will work with either, but its not quite the same here as in other countries. just to lad a base map they charge 30,000 yen (300 USD) and the price jsut goes up from there.

I could have had the stock ecu reburned to match my setup, but them everytime I change something I would have to pay for areburn, too expensive!

Thats why I wanted the power FC to start with, If I get the datalogit and a wideband, I figure this can't be much harder to tune than a carb, and as I make changes I can self tune to match.

regardless i got a used model i picked up on yahoo japan so they are going to have to deal with it.
