Red face Power FC NOOB Micro-FAQ

I just bought a power fc the other day and consider myself about as clueless as one can get when it comes to tuning a car. However I did come across a lot of information that was useful and wanted to compile some of it to clear up confusion that I myself have had and other new power fc owners will defintely have.

1. http://www.fd3s.net/power_fc_install.html -> good install FAQ. I have not cut the required cables yet but will be doing so soon enough.

2. New power fc's do NOT necessarily have the base mod map!
I am running a 5.08 version and checked the maps out of the box and they are the base stock maps.

Intake | Catback

Base Stock

Intake | Downpipe | Hi-flow Cat | Catback | Intercooler

Base Mod

Double check the maps before you DO anything.
http://opus.bloomcounty.org/~patrick/pfc/ -> is a great way to compare the diferences between the maps and to quickly see if you have the stock or mod map pre-installed. Also by knowing what you have to change only it's a lot quicker using the commander than going through each value and checking.

Eg. Look at the INJ map - at N06 and P05 the value is 106 for base mod and 100 for base stock.

Recommendation is to get the car professionally tuned if you don't know what your doing. I am having my tuned in a couple of weeks but at least having a semi-safe map installed in the first place may save you blowing up your motor until you have it tuned. I was really suprised to find my power fc had the basic stock map installed and it was a brand new power fc 5.08 out of the box so NEVER assume anything.

Good luck!
