I was shopping for the Power FC for my '93 RX7 and am told by several vendors that it is on national backorder without an estimated arrival time.

Does anyone have inside information to how long the wait is or is there a vendor that has some in stock still?

Yes its true.
From what I have heard its the only model that is on backorder from Apex.

Thanks for the link but that GB is closed to more orders. Looks like they are having the same problem getting the units.

apexera/apex'i had filed for bankruptcy in 2006. as for the current company status... no potential investors have picked up the company.

 

Ordered mine from JapsParts Specialist on Ebay at the end of March and got it at the end of April. They sent me several emails keeping me updated on the backorder situation. They said they had a long waiting list and were being sent 14 units at a time or once per month. They even told me that it would be the first of June before I would get mine but I've had it for over a month now.

 

^^ +1 for JPS, even though it's been a long wait. I hated being on the JPS waiting list, but they're honest business people, so I've been on it since April. They said it'd be June or July before I got mine because of how far back I was on the list. I got an e-mail last week that they got mine and they're shipping it tomorrow; I expect it by the end of the week.

At this point, there are pretty much NO S6 FD PFCs on eBay, at least from the bigger vendors, but they pop up from time to time from private sellers. Here's one going in a few hours. I think it'll go for over $800 used, given the short supply.

I have a spare PFC that works fine except for the fan controls. Came out of my car. Make me an offer if you don't want to wait. Would be most useful in a track car or someone with fan switches manually controlled already.

 

umm ive got one on order to mate. 4 weeks is what ive been told.

 

Update:

I ordered one from http://www.jappartsspecialist.com/ about 2 weeks ago. Was told it was going to be a 2-4 week wait but received it today after only 2 weeks. They shipped it fedex express so it arrived in 2 days from Japan to Savannah, GA.

The RX7 store in Columbus Ohio has them in stock and the customer service is top notch!!! They will install a map for whatever mods you currently have. Chris is awesome at what he does. He spent 20 minutes on the phone with me the other day troubleshooting some problems.

 

I did order one from the RX7 store 2 weeks ago and they told me it was out of stock and on indefinite backorder with no estimated date of arrival. I canceled the order and went with Jap Parts. They were MUCH cheaper anyway.

 

I have some on the way to me but will be next week before they're here. Most of them are presold.
