I have 1996, just had the engine rebuilt, and I think it's on a 'safe map' while I run it in.

However, on the Commander, all the values seem to be at their defaults.

In the Idle section, for example, everything is at 0.

I'm getting a lot of backfiring, almost like anti-lag, on overrun at around 2400rpm.

I wanted to change the fuel cut figures, and as this area is a relatively 'safe' area to make changes in, I set the values to:

Rev-limit: 4000 (for running in)
No load fuel cut: 1000
Elec load fuel cut: 1100
A/C fuel cut: 1200
No load idle: 900
Elec load idle: 1000
A/C idle: 1100

Just as a starting point.

I pressed Prev to come out, and turned off the car. When I turned it back on, everything was at 0 again.

I entered the values again, pressed Prev, then went immediately back into the Idle area and they were at 0 again.

It's like it's not loading/saving data.

However all the sensors are reporting accurately to it.

Any ideas?

The guy that mapped it is away at the moment.

The Commander was working prior to going in, as I had adjusted idle settings previously to try and solve what turned out to be caused by a leaking inlet manifold gasket.

 

For that one person that finds this thread in a Google search 5 years from now.

The map is locked. It can only be unlocked by the software used to map it, and not via the Commander.

Mine is on a running in basic map. It won't be finalised until it's safe enough to go on a dyno.

No idea about the intermittent fuel cut thing though...

 

You need a DL to unlock those tables.
