Has anyone lost there Street ported engine using just the base map that came with the POWER FC? I have heard the BASE MAP is not suited for our kind of fuel here compare to japan, therefore there is a chance of preignition.

 

power fc basemap is setup for downpipe catback and intake, all else stock (including motor). the streetported motor alters your timing, so the basemap is unsuitable for a ported engine. ported motors are a huge wildcard.....I have broken apart many supposedly ported motors and found everything from mild to wild.

 

Nevermind... Will do a search and try and find out on my own.

 

Will it be ok to run the basemap during the break-in period when you have a street ported motor?

 

I would say you'll be ok. staying off boost makes the rotary engine much more resilient.
