Power FC and AC

I'm sure this has been covered before, but its very difficult to do a search given the prohibition against two-letter terms. I'm down to searching for "power" and that doesn't work so well :-)

I remember when the PFC initially came out, people had trouble controlling the AC fans properly on some cars (I think maybe it had to do with factory versus "port-installed" AC...maybe) but I haven't seen that mentioned recently. Most of the posts I did find seemed to indicate that the AC worked fine but you have to take the ECU out of the picture, i.e. tie the AC switch and fan switch directly to the AC relay. This of course would prevent the ECU from turning off the AC during cranking or hard acceleration, which is incredibly lame, IMO. How hard can it be to take care of this simple control? I'd be delighted if someone could tell me I'm wrong about this. I'm starting to consider buying one of these, as my Pettit ECU is causing me frustration right now, but I don't consider that AC issue satisfactory at all, if its real.
