Power FC Poer FC, FD 2krpm idle.
Poer FC, FD 2krpm idle.
Posring for a friend. He recently purchased a used apexi power commander for his jdm FD.
IT just had a rebuild with a VERY LARGE streetport.
He hasn't been running any boost due to his freeflowing exhaust and large port. So he got an apexi fc and power commander and we "reset it" had plugged it in like it said. We did the idle thing, it hunted the idle down, then we ran the defrost, then the A/x, 10min,10/10. Then it seemed fine so we turned it off and went for dinner.
Turning it back on it just sat there and idled at 2krpm. We couldn't figure it out and tried resetting it multiple times to reset the idle but nothing. Its stuck at ~2k rpm.
Can anyone shine some light on this.

Go to etc. --> sensor check in the Commander.
What do the values "VTA1 [full range TPS" and "VTA2 [narrow range TPS]" say? If you have retained the TB coolant hose and fast idle system, let the engine warm up and record the values again when water temp is over 80 C.
This will gives us an idea of whether the throttle plates are stuck open or not for whatever reason.

Problem was found. He never told me but he tightened the throttle cable instead of the idle screw to bring the idle up when he first started it (after rebuild)...
Anyway, after that it is now working fine and better then hoped. Didn't know Power FCs could read wideband o2 readings and correct accordingly. Its handling his huge streetport remarkebly well.
Thanks for the input.
