Pin IA battery postive

I am adding a buffering cap to my Power FC pin 1B power to help regulate voltage spikes to my Power FC when I noted that I have no power at all to pin 1A or batt +. This was used by the stock ECU for backup power according to the FSM. Is this power needed at all for the Power FC? Should I find the reason why or reroute batt + to this pin or just let it go? My Power FC seems to work mostly fine but I am having some problems with sensor fluctuations and injector transition from pri to sec. This is a USDM 1994 with the 414-BZ004 Power FC.
Thanks
Mike

After doing some research on other car forums that use the Power FC too, I found the answer myself. The 1A battery positive is used by the Power FC similar to the purpose used by the stock ECU. It is used for memory backup. If you don't have it hooked up, as mine wasn't until I fixed it, the commander cannot change any factors in the program on the fly to store them. Once you shut off the engine and 1A is connected to batt +, the new program is saved in the Power FC memory. If unconnected, any changes are lost if entered through the commander. This does not count for a laptop that is hooked up. All changes are saved since the update and/or write all does permanently change the saved program.
