Exclamation PFC w/stock i/c?

i just got my pfc in the mail today from another member brand new. i would like to install it but my better judgement tells me not to. i am still on my stock intercooler in my 93 fd. soon to be changed in 3 months or so...i have the reliability mods done to the car and some performance mods: intake, dp, resonated mp, and cb. i know this is asking for it but i have a reducer in my exhaust for the time being. im going to port my wastegate this coming weekend and install my boost controller if time permits. i have a boost gauge and it holds 10lbs no problem. my uego wideband shows the car running quite rich(i.e. 10's under boost).

basically im trying to get ready for upping the boost on my car, one part at a time. so will i be ok installing the pfc on my car? now i understand everycar is different, especially fd's, but in general what is the rule on the pfc with no upgraded i/c?

thanks for any help and advice.

mike

There is no rule with the pfc and uprated i/c. With your mods there is a chance that you will run lean without that reducer in the exhaust. Getting the pfc will allow you to ensure that the car is getting proper fuel, particularly if you are going to be upping boost.

Go ahead and install the PFC and keep boost to 10psi and you will not have any problems. A larger IC allows more boost and leaner AFRs.

will i be able to remove the reducer once the wastegates are ported and the b/c is installed? i ask because IMO there is no reason to install a mp with stock boost. i know i got the mp a bit premature but it was a straight up trade for my stocker so ya cant beat that with a stick. hehe thanks

i wont up the boost until i get fuel upgrades and an i/c fyi
