PFC in standalone mode

I would like to talk with someone who has used their PFC in a standalone mode for their FD and possibly made custom engine harnesses. I don't have any solenoids left from a non-seq mod a while back and want to do away with the OMP. so I am trying to determine exactly down to the wire what wire I need to run from the PFC out to the Motor. This is a do-able thing, isn't it ? I have no AC so don't worry about that. My Fans are a standalone mod where they work from their own thermoswitch. So fans is not a problem. I have an Auto tranny, and a separate PCS standalone computer will run it. I have a list of what I think needs to be ran, but would love to talk with someone who has done it, rather than just plug it in and play.

thanks, Tom

Don't tell me nobody out there has never made a custom harness and experimented with eliminating un-needed wires.

What did you do with the stock solenoids when installing a PFC and single turbo ?

Custom Harness?

Regarding a custom harness that does not have a lot of unused connectors,
Here is what I am thinking of, any comments.
My guess is that most just clip off the unused connectors.
Not sure if this could cause a problem for the PFC (possible sensor short)

Modified Main Engine Harness
Single Turbo – Apexi PFC – Greddy Profec B – Air Pump Delete

Added -
Profec B harness to solenoid

Retained -
Ignition Pickups to ECU
Fuel Injector connectors
Oil Metering Pump
Fuel Purge Solenoid
Fuel Temp Sensor
Air Temp Sensor
IAC Solenoid
Throttle Position Sensor
Transmission “switches”

Eliminated –
Double Throttle Control
ACV solenoids and switches
EGR Solenoid
EGR Switch
Air Pump Switch
Turbo Control Solenoids (several)

Sketch it up, make the harness and install it. Then post back here. It really would be a simple task as all the Rx7 harness wires are well identified in the OE manuals. Very few sensors and solenoids are needed, it's been discussed many times over on this forum. TPS, CAS, MAP, water temp and maybe thermoswitch, air temp, and that's about it on sensors. Injectors, ignition, MOP (I would still use it), fuel pump and cooling fans (I like the PFC cooling fan controls) are about all that it needs to output to. Power and ground. See how simple this is, that's just one minute of thinking about it without looking at the car or the manual and I bet it's almost a complete list. Study the manuals and you should be there.

Updated the list, I left off the thermosensor thermoswitch and knock sensor.
Anyone know it the PFC "uses" the transmission switches to control engine idle like the stock ECU does?

Keep in mind I am only looking at connections that are made in the "main engine harness" so the MAP sensor and Ignition and coil are not listed here.

Added -
Profec B harness to solenoid

Retained -
Ignition Pickups to ECU
Fuel Injector connectors
Oil Metering Pump
Fuel Purge Solenoid
Water Thermo sensor
Water Thermo switch
Air Temp Sensor
IAC Solenoid (optional based on some posts to the forum)
Throttle Position Sensor
Fuel Temp Sensor (optional as PFC fuel adjustments are minimal)
Transmission “switches” (not sure if the PFC uses these)

Eliminated –
Knock Sensor (optional as PFC reports but does not “use” the readings)
Double Throttle Control
ACV solenoids and switches
EGR Solenoid
EGR Switch
Air Pump Switch
Turbo Control Solenoids (several)

Anyone know if the PFC does anything with the transmission Neutral switch.
Any experience running a car with the switch disconnected?
