Power FC pfc question on switches ????

pfc question on switches ????

I was just wondering if anyone knows if there is any weird behaver from a pfc if you do not have switches like.... stop, clutch, a/c , neutral on the input to the ecu. Thanks if anyone can help

bump........ to be alittle more clear... has anyone noticed a funky idile or stalling if your clutch switch is not working.

Yes, this is a common problem, happened to myself a couple of years ago and had to replace the clutch switch.

were you using a power fc at the time...... I am about to put one in my first gen and I dont have the e/l unit/switch, stop switch, and the clutch switch to name a few.

To clarify, I think you could get by without those switches if you needed to. I don't think the brake switch does anything on a manual...probably for the automatics to keep you from putting it in gear without pressing the brake. The clutch switch is for the AC, the best I can tell. If you turn on the AC and your clutch switch is bad, it will tend to stall when you press in the clutch unless you put it in neutral immediately. Which might be where the neutral switch comes into play. However, with the AC off, I don't think you would need any of the switches. Or you might be able to just trick it by hardwiring them open/closed as necessary.

You may be able to trick the switches, but my car was stalling when the clutch switch went bad without the A/C on, the A/C is removed on my car. It's like $20 at the dealer if you wanted to pick one up.
