Hello friends, looking at reviving my RX7 from storage hopefully in a few years and came across this.
There is a new interface that improves over the datalogit called the DL-340XB replacing the 20 year old Datalogit & FC-Edit
I'm ordering a new Power FC and Commander from Japan to have ready once the time comes.
Here some info from the link below.
"The long awaited, fastest & most accurate Power FC USB interface is now officially released for the RX7. The DL-340XB is the only modern interface box on the market which comes with its own user friendly software and voice assist, totally replacing the 20 year old Datalogit & FC-Edit. Get twice the data logging speed and much better data quality, with no software crashes, no undefined parameters, or a myriad of awkward settings. Can upload/ download PFC maps or simply select your AFR meter model from its built in list and start logging! Ready to ship!"

Can't wait to try this and the FC Tweak software with autotune. Can't wait to see they features as they go along.

+1 Billion for Xavier Borg who single handedly brought the PFC back into a leading tuning platform for the common person.
1. FC Tweak Software with Autotune
2. Data Logger with voice assist - (DL-340XB)
3. Upgraded Igniter - (FD-IGN-10XB)
There are many people (experienced tuners) who joined the google group to discuss all the details and usage of this software, but I feel that a lot of information should be shared here as well.

I didn't know about the igniter upgrade. So you can run stock coils or upgraded with it or just stick with stock with this igniter?
Xavier made a high power igniter which provides a stronger and cleaner output to the stock coils.
FC Tweak has built in settings for use with his igniter.
I believe there is a T2 coil upgrade option in the menu as well.
I had it but my dual battery set-up had a bunch of ground loops that was affecting a lot of things on my car. My car did not want to start one day and I threw the stock igniter back in and it fired right up. Thinking back I probably had a wrong setting and/or other issues.
I sold it because my stock igniter and HKS twin power still worked with my issues.
Everything is fixed on my car now so I would like to try his igniter again in the future.
I know it's expensive but it is better then the IGN 1A if your using the PFC still and have the stock harnesses.
IGN-1A uses the igniter connector which goes through the front harness, I read that the coil harness gets power from a big loop with the signal originating from the igniter connector, back through left side firewall and out the right side firewall through the engine harness and to the coil harness. (had to correct myself several times..lol)
If you do a rywire harness or custom harness you will have to redo your ign calculations for the new wire length.
Many rabbit holes can be avoided by using the PFC, Xavier's tuning software, and following his recommendations.

I am actually going through all this right now, but just missed the boat on the DL-340XB unit and instead I am still using the old Datalogit since I had just purchased it about 3 months before I read about the DL-340XB. However, utilizing FC Tweak has been outstanding and as soon as I get all my errors sorted I'll be using the autotune feature from FC Tweak. It has really given new life to the PFC from what I can tell.

its picky and demanding, but once its happy, the car will run amazingly well.
Perhaps, you're not aware that Apexi has recently revised the internal electronics of all FD3S Power FCs, so although they look externally the same as their old versions, they have now switched to newer ICs. The part numbers have in fact changed from the old Z004/5/6 to Z007/8/9. So no worries, as the PFC is here to stay for a long time.

The least thing one should perform on any Power FC is a full file scan and optimization using FC-Tweak. Can use either Datalogit or the new DL-340XB interface, with the latter it becomes even simpler than ever before.
Over 300 bad parameters scattered in various settings tables get usually inherited into all manually tuned files. FC-Tweak will scan for all these errors and optimize their values according to your mods list.
Once you're done with this, it's highly recommended to fit a wideband O2 sensor in order to perform a full fuel map tune. All you have to do is start logging and let FC-Tweak auto-tune your map. And that's it... your engine will be 100% safe under all driving conditions and will cruise even better than when it was with its factory ECU. Auto-tune uses AI generated algorithms which is able to tune even those cells which you have missed during the driving session. It basically learns from each car that gets tuned with it. Also, unlike most other tuning systems on other ECUs, including FC-Edit, it takes into account the AFR reading delay. Most people are not aware that FC-Edit and many other tuning software will tabulate the AFR readings on the wrong data set since such software does not take into account the time taken for exhaust air to reach the WBO2 sensor, which is not negligible and varies with both boost and RPM. Auto-tune will dynamically shift all AFR data into the correct place during its auto-tuning. Auto-tuning is a simple 3 step process as shown below, and anyone can tune his RX7 to perfection in a couple of street driving sessions.
