Yep. The Datalogit is the only PFC software available to the general public.

The Apexi Power Excel software is available only to Apexi licensed tuners such as XS.

Even though it's not listed in the catalog, Ari is selling it, I just ordered mine today, and he is getting more in this coming week.

I just ordered mine from RX7.COM. I sure hope the user group for this product is a good one like the Haltech group. So far I have not seen much.

I wouldn't expect much just yet since the datalogit has been out for ~five months. I doubt the haltech group was much at five months.

I got my Datalogit from Ari about a week ago, and the online user group looks alright, but not very substantiated yet. Hopefully with the USA and Canada on board thanks to Ari, things will pick up a bit.

Yes it's on CD, but you get more than the CD. First off you get acces to the yahoo users group that is handy in learning how to tune everything properly. Also you can trade maps through that. But what you are missing is the most important thing, the wiring harness. There is a special box that has a serial cable jack on one end, and the PS/2 type connection on the other. After succesfully tuning my car this weekend for an extra 100 horsepower, that 300 dollars is about the best horsepower/money investment I have made to the car. That box also has locations to plug in anything you want that reads 0-5 volts. Example, EGT gauge, Oil temp gauge, and evena wide band.. yes, it can read a wide band air/fuel meter. The dataloging ability alone is worth the 300 dollars. Go buy the thing, and learn to tune, it works really well.

Tell us more about your tuning experience of gaining 100 hp. I'm sure this testimonial will be of value to those thinking about purchasing Datalogit. I already ordered mine for $299 from RX7,COM.

Well.. it's a long story.. but basically.. my car has just about every mod you can get.. including a single turbo upgrade to a T-78. I was running a conservative 11.5 psi of boost on pump gas, and I was able to accuratly adjust the timing and the injector duties to allow for higher boost. I am now running with 1 bar of boost on pump gas.. 14.5 psi. And I am still a little rich. The datalogging allowed me to richen up the mixture.. and then make 2nd/third gear pulls and then I would look at that datalog, see that I was still rich, bump up the boost a bit.. and do it again. Also.. the software allows me to do a "compare" to the normal stock maps.. so I can take what is stock, and get an immediate and direct comparison of all settings to the stock maps, or any of your previous maps. This helps sooo much in tuning also, as I found several spots near the high RPM, and the high boost settings that were lean. They were just missed because it's almost impossible to get all of them with just the commander. After I got the boost/mixture set right.. I was able to dyno the car, and tweek the timing to get a bit more torque.. basically trying to stop the torque/horsepower from dropping at high RPM's. I have set up everything very conservativly.. I will bump up the boost even more once I put my race plugs back in. Right now, I am having ignition issues, as the stock plugs can't burn all that fuel. Well.. I hope this helps.. I just don't have the time to go into everything that the computer can do, but without it, I would not safely be making this kind of horsepower. It's good stuff!

Great analysis. I'd be interested in the dyno chart.

How did you measure your fuel mixture, with a wideband??

Well.. no. I did it "old school." Although, the datalogit software for the power FC will read a wide band, resulting in significant savings, I read the stock O2 sensor.. I was aiming for a reading of .84-.86 under full boost. That's about right.. although I am getting .87 right now at about 15 lbs. I am not going to try more boost right now without upping the octane, but I am going to lean out the maps just a bit. When i put the car on the dyno, though, I use a wideband. I get everything set up to where I think things will go well, then I test out in the country and make sure that I am a bit rich.. ie .86-.87 under full boost.. a bit at .85 is alright. Then I take it to the dyno, and tweak the maps for a bit more horsepower, and slightly leaner conditions. Those O2 numbers are on pump gas, and with the more durable 3mm seals. I hope this helps.

Come on! It's a worthy investment and you have to support people who put out the R&D to make the product.

Okay, I'm biased and a software company owner
But it's $300 well spent I bet.
