Non-starting 400 mile rebuilt....

Car has been running good, besides the idle hunt during deceleration. Has a generic map till I got it broke in. Started it and the idle jumped up pretty high then started hunting, drove it 100 feet to a stop light and it just shut off, and won't start. I changed plugs and it started nice but shut off after a few seconds, now it won't start again. I'm smelling gas but don't know if the map became corrupted, if that's possible.
any thoughts would help alot. I only have a commander right now.

first thing you do is verify you have fuel, spark, and air.

Sounds like to me it is either flooded, or fuel isn't getting to the engine.

Sounds like a simple problem. You could have a fuel injector not sealed and leaking on the block. My front rotor had no fuel cause of the injector leaking onto the block. Also check out your fuel lines! Have someone prime the pump (cycle the ignition many times) and smell/look for fuel. Good luck!

That sounds like a possibility, I did notice some moisture around that area. Another question: Is there a way to get to the settings without getting the car started?, There was a suggestion that I should go into my PMI volt to reset it to normal, but The car does'nt stay running long enough to get there. I'm getting a blank screen after clicking next on the PMI volt.

If you smell fuel it's not a good idea to have the car running or a good idea to find a way to get it started. Find the leak or pay someone to find it!

I'm wondering if the PFC is screwed. I can't get to the settings unless I actually get the car running. Once it's running, and shuts off...then I can get to everything. Is this the way it's suppose to operate, or do I have to do something to get to the settings?. The Apexi logo stays on the screen till the engine starts. This is a brand new PFC, only running for a few months.

With key power set to ON, your should be able to access anything on the PFC. If this isn't the case with you, then I am led to believe there are bigger problems.

I'm trying to go by process of elimination. Waiting for delivery of a datalogit to see if the problem is the commander. I'm hoping to hear what were the symptoms of an actual fried PFC. I can still hear relays and other things clicking when I turn the ignition on, and I can still get to the settings once the car turns over(even though it shuts off after a few seconds). So hopefully it's not shot.

Yeah, your best bet is to get the dataloggit... It will open the whole world up.

PFC went bad. It seems that my crispy engine harness shorted out the PFC. Time to install a engine harness. Now I wonder where I can send the PFC to get repaired?. I lost the warranty card, so Apexi won't do it.
