new power fc

now i just got the power fc and commander with a pre tune.the guy at S an R motor sports said it would be 30 hp gain with their tune and my apexi power intake. you buy it?

The PFC already comes with a base tune that will support the standard bolt-ons. SR Motorsports have a pretty poor reputation so I'd be interested in how much their tune differs from the standard PFC base tune.

it seems like it jumps to 40 a lil quicker and boost response is better

The map that comes on most PFCs today, has too little timing advance for most lightly modified FDs.
My 350whp non-seq very modified FD had 3 to 6 degrees more timing than the base mod map V 5.88.
So it is very reasonable that his tune does give +30hp.

so how exactly do i do i learn to tune my car. how much can i tune with out a laptop and datalogit?

p.s.
can i go non sequential with the stock turbos or do i have to go BNR?

...without a DL and laptop you should leave it. and, more impoortant than these 2 things, is, you should know what you're doing or you better leave it to someone who had some experience...

..besides, best for a tune is some monitoring with an EGT and/or wideband.

And yes, you can go non-seq with the stock twins...

thats awsome!!! have a new question though. i just moved back to las vegas from sacramento and the evelevation drop is about -5000 feet from where the car was tuned. my car has less boost response and barely ever hitting 10 psi. i usualy get around 5-8 psi now. WHAT DO I DO???
