New M&W CDI with the PFC in mind

Just got confirmation that M&W has a new box, which is labeled the Pro 14R V2. The V2 is specifically designed for 3-channel ECUs like the PFC. This box will do true 4 channel, direct-fire output with only the 3 channel, wastespark input. I don't have the specifics on how it operates but I'm guessing it references the T1 input and knows the firing order after will then be L2, T2, L1. So, with the V2 box, leading will not fire in wastespark as they do when the regular Pro 14R is installed on a 3-channel ECU, but in direct-fire, spark per revolution mode.

Not sure there is a real benefit to running direct-fire v. wastespark with CDI. It's not like an inductive system where duty cycle becomes a concern at high revs. It would obviously allow the leading coils to operate at half the duty and maybe help with any potential heat issues on extended duty circuit applications.

I like the M&W. They work well and are reliable. They're also 4-channel capable in a single box that is smaller than any of the single MSD boxes. You'll need 2+ MSD boxes to build a similar 4-channel system and packaging that on a street car gets to be a real pain.
