Power FC Need to set turbos to no boost with PFC
Need to set turbos to no boost with PFC
I have a PFC and a recent rebuild. I need to be boosting 0 pounds because driving around right now they come on around 1800 RPM so it is impossible to drive around without boosting a little.
The lowest setting on the PFC says 20% for all turbos. How many punds is that boosting? Is there a way I could shut them off totally with the PFC? And just to check, the PFC was saying primary injectors as 750cc, i thought they were 550's or am I wrong? I set the reading back to 550 but just want to make sure. Any help greatly appreciated.

The only way I know of to get 0 psi is to wire the wastegate open.
And yes, the stock primary injectors are 550cc. Didn't you 'load all defaults' when you installed the PFC? What version is it, 5.08 or 7.07?

To not boost on a new engine is an over kill. You can easily boost 4 or 5 psi. I boosted more than that but not much. If you take the stock pills out of the wastegate/precontrol lines you'll only get 7 psi.
ok, so how do you 'load all settings'? Does that take it back to default base map? Also, if I turn the boost down all the way the PFC will let me, how much boost would I be running? Not sure what version but bought it from SRmotorosports on x-mas just 4 months ago if that helps...
If you bought the PFC new from SR, then you shouldn't need to load defaults, but then why were the injectors set to 750? Didn't they 'tune' it for your setup?
The version shows up on the commander screen when it first powers up.

well the PFC was tuned for my set-up from SR...but then I took it to a tuner and he popped it whend dicking with the settings...then for some reason when I got it back it from the rebuilder it was set for 750 primaries. So all I want to do is know how to reset the PFC, and set boost as low as possible. I am guessing for boost you go to where you control it and just put the #'s all the way down as far as they go...but still need to know how to reset...

Keep in mind that resetting will restore the Apex settings, not SR's. Some of the default maps are too hot for use with CA 91 gas. Check the version number before you restore the defaults. 5.08 is ok, 7.07 is too hot.
To restore using the commander:
- go to the 'etc' menu
- select 'all data init'
- turn IGN key on and off
I have the User's Manual in pdf format if you want it.

thnx patriick, it was version 5.08 and it has been reset with the 1300cc secondaries added in. This thread was a help =)...but if anyone knows how much boost is coming through with the boost turned all the way down on the PFC please PM me and let me know..
No problem, glad it helped...
For lowest boost:
Set the primary and secondary to .50 (7psi), then set both WG% to 0 (wastegate open max). Doing this should limit boost to 7psi and slow the boost rise time.
If you really want 0 psi, wire the wastegate open, otherwise just control boost with your foot.
