Need commander with Datalogit ?
Greetings,
I'm leaning toward getting a PFC with Datalogit. I'm now trying to decide if I should get the commander also. The best I can tell from the Datalogit page, and searches, it appears that Datalogit will do anything the commander will do and more. Is that correct? If so, I guess it comes down to whether it's worth $300 not to have to hook up a laptop when you want to monitor a live value.
Is there any way to use a Pocket PC (IPAQ) to monitor engine parameters?
Thanks,

The hand held unit can be stored out of sight or used as a set of gages or to reset values when the lap top is home and your girl or boy friend riding with you. some lap tops give trouble staying connected . The hand unit is worth it in my mind

I have both PocketPC and 2 laptops, so I'd like to avoid the commander if possible.

You cannot hook up a PC without such an interface device.

Ok, I understand that I need Datalogit, but I don't know if there is a software for Pocket PCs ? (they're much smaller then laptops and convenient for use in the car)

FWIW, I went ahead and got a Commander, and mounted it for full time use as a monitor. It's nice to be able to see air and water temps without having to add another gauge.
I haven't seen any software to allow the datalogit to work with a Power PC, though it should be possible. Actually, I've had more than my share of problems getting a normal PC to work with Datalogit so far, and will be trying my second interface box shortly.
Cheers,
Rusty

Hehe, it was Pocket PC not Power PC
Nonetheless, it would be a nice feature, as PocketPC has 65k colors and bigger display then the Commander. Maybe I ought to contact the developer and ask him to port it to PocketPC or let me do it if he provides the source - like that will ever happen

There was some talk about the Pocket PC hookup for the Datalogit and Oz-DIY-02. If I remember correctly, it was possible to port the output to palm os but not to Windows CE 1.0-3.0 (Pocket PC).
