Log Files Missing?

Hello, I have been trying to use the logging feature on my Datalogit then use that log to run an autotune through FC Tweak, however when I go to upload the log into FC Tweak it's like the Datalogit log file does not exist. If I navigate to the file folder through my computer none of my log files show up. see image below:

Files Missing
However, if I look at my history through quick access it shows my last 20 files and all the files are there, but if I try to copy the file from that location in quick access it says file no longer located there.

Log files shown in last 20 files
Now the weird thing is if I try to open the log file from the FC Edit software to view the log everything is there and I can indeed open the file and watch the log.

Accessing file through FC Edit
Has anybody run into this issue at all? I'm stumped.

Thanks,

maybe try making a new folder on the desktop, and put a log and data file into it ,and see what FC Tweak does then?
i haven't run into this specifically, but i've certainly had the "where did it just save that?!?" happen

Thanks I'll try that tonight. I was reading through FC Tweaks manual again and on a step by step logging he suggests opening Map Watch before hitting logging which I did not do, I just logged directly from the main FC Edit menu. Does that make a difference? I don't know, but maybe it just logs the file until you disconnect from the PFC then erases it in the folder. I'm new to the Datalogit and FC edit so it's been a lot of reading and trying to get things right. Too bad I only just heard about Xavier's new PFC interface box as that looks like it would save a ton of this headache.

I think the Tweak manual has the instructions to run it in Administrator mode if needed -- something about how/where you saved your files.

Do you notice that the logfiles which are listed as a text document are missing the ".txt" file extension on them.
Rename them!

When you log, only save the log and not the .dat with them.

Funny, I had not noticed that so I'll look to save just the log without the .dat file. Still learning how to log with this setup as it's quite different than a couple of other tuning programs I have used.

Thanks for the input.

OK, I was perusing articles in the tuning group and came accross this from Xavier a couple of years back.

"One often requires to access a Datalogit logfile from other applications to further process its data or to simply email it to a
tuner. Well, what may sound as a simple task turns out for most to be quite a frustrating issue due to the fact that FC-Edit
locks its default Log folder for its exclusive use, and you won’t even be able to view the files from Windows Explorer, even
though you are logged in as Admin."

So I am not out of my mind and there is a reason I cannot see the files when going to them through explorer. They are actually locked by FC Edit for viewing, hence why I can see them from the software, but not any other way.

The work around is to just create a new log folder anywhere on your drive, probably C: MyLogs and save any new log file there. For some reason FC Edit locks the file folder for viewing data logs. Anyway I have not tried this yet, but I'll report back to confirm. He listed a couple of other ways, but this is the simplest work around.

Edit: So J9fd3s was correct in just making a new folder on the Desktop or anywhere other than the stock log file location created by FC Edit.

lmao, its a total accident, i just wanted all the logs for my car in one place.

its really a thing to get the FC Edit working, and actually get a log, but once you do its totally worth it.
