Less than 100 values for leaning out idle

Is there any problem with doing this?

For example, to get my car to idle anywhere near the 14.7 range I had to take some of the cells in the commander down from 121 or 106 to like 96. Does this hurt anything?

It's amazing how rich the car runs with the base PFC map on it, I mean even in cruising I'm seeing 13.0-12.9 on the wideband at times with no boost, just light throttle cruise. I've never seen the wideband go above 14.0 while driving around.... which is horrible. No wonder I go through gas like nothing.

Anyone have experience with tuning the car for cruise and better gas mileage? I know chuck made a thread about this a while ago, but I wanted to be sure changing the values below 100 would not harm anything.

Thanks

There's nothing magic about the "100" (which just means there is no adjustment to the base fuel map). You aren't going to hurt anything by leaning out idle and cruise.

I know you really can't hurt the motor under idle and cruise areas, but I meant in terms of hurting the injectors. I wasn't sure if those ammounts were in percentages.

I'm still considering just running negative split on the primary injector values to lean out the idle and cruise, mine is rediculously rich right now with the mostly base mod power fc map.

How do you think you could hurt the injectors?

You need to understand what you are adjusting. The values in the base map indicate how many milliseconds of time the primary injectors need to operate to hit an AFR of 14.7. The injector map is essentially a correction factor to hit safe AFRs with mods above stock. By changing the value to less than "100" (which really is 1.00), you are simply reducing the base map value from it's normal.

I somewhat understood that to begin with, but you just clarified it a bit more. Thanks rynberg
