Lean out INJ map to get stoich 14.7 for mot/emission test

Anyway, I bought a brand new Power FC and Datalogit (omg my wallet), first time using the software, I know emailing/get into Datalogit Newsgroup is a way, but they are slow as heck to respond, so I was like hey, I probably get an answer here faster so here I am

- Why I got Power FC/Datalogit ?

Because I gotta get the car to pass MOT (sorta like Smog/emission/sniffer test back in the States), and the ONLY way to pass MOT is to get Lambda(aka A/F) to 0.98~1.03(1.0 = 14.7 AFR) in 2 speed, first is idle, 2nd will be high idle, which is around 2500~2900 rpm.

with stock ECU and everything working, I have a hard time getting it to even go pass 0.85 lambda, it's still too rich to pass the test. I know I can lean stuff out with Power FC, so I am gonna do that

So here is my question, Is it safe to say if I can get stock O2 sensor to read 0.45 volt, I'm right at 14.7 AFR ? Now it reads at around 0.2 to 0.1 mostly.

I think I should mess with the INJ map (decrease the 1.0 to something like 0.9/0.8?)

I know stock sensor sucks ***** but it should be able to help, right ? cuz I can log O2 sensor voltage with Datalogit.

Where about are you and what year is the car? forget about using the Lamda sensor, even the stock ECU never used it for idle.
In settings3/ inj adjust turn down the 1000rpm value until it starts to stumble then turn up a little, remember to press write after each adjustment.
Best get a wideband.

you deleted the airpump didn't you? it's going to be hard to pass without it. Leaning out the mixture with the Power FC won't do it. It's just going to misfire, which will make you fail HC emissions.

In order for the engine to idle smoothly enough that the dump masses would buy the car, the timing at idle is very retarded, the fuel is very rich, and air flow is high. The air pump diluted the exhaust to 14.7 such that the ECU could adjust air and fuel to maintain 14.7 for the cat to work properly.

No air pump, idle is rich, ecu removes fuel due to rich condition, engine then misfires and stumbles. The PFC allows changing these parameters for a more efficient idle but will not pass testing.

After my post I read almost everything I can find on the internet about how this god damn emission system works and yes, even Stock ECU never uses it for idle.

I bought a 5 gas analyzer for testing purposes, should be here in a week or so. and I gotta do the wire cut/pin removal cuz as soon as I plug the Power FC in, the idle jumps up to over 1000 rpm no matter what I do I can't lower it.

Airpump is here, but see my message down there.

yep, you are correct

one thing I noticed about this FD is that

- with Stock ECU, the airpump will stay dead, it's not relay its not wiring, everything checks out fine, and it's not ECU because when I turn the key on, the Air pump Clicks just like normal, so theres gotta be something that's telling the ECU the airpump stays off, I even swap the ECU with 3 different stock ECU , same ****

buttttt ! As soon as I plug PowerFC in, the airpump works 100%, turns on/off at the right RPM, but the idle jumps up to 1100-1300 rpm, and will not come down no matter what I do to the adjustment. I think it has something to do with the 4 wire thing with PFC, Next week I'm gonna remove the pin and see how it goes.

Oh, with stock ECU, I tried to hard-wire the air pump so it turns on all the time AND I capped the ACV nipple so it pumps air to the cat at all time, got the Lambda to 0.92, which is around 13.x AFR ? but it's still too rich to pass, there is gotta be something that prevents the ECU from turning the airpump on normally, its probably something that PFC ignores by default, I'm trying to figure what that is, ideas ?
