I ordered a PFC from rx7trix.com (it was the cheapest) and just got it today after waiting four weeks for it. The problem is that they order their parts from Apexi Japan. Consequently all of the instructions are in Japanese only. The guy at rx7trix told me when I ordered it that it was from Japan, but it was the exact same as the US version (but he also said that the instructions were in english). I'm new to the PFC (never used/seen one before), and have some questions/concerns about this.

1) Is the text on the commander screen going to be in english or Japanese?

2) Is there a place that I can download the english instructions?

3) Will a Japanese PFC work with a North American FD (computer connections, maps, etc..)? Are they the EXACT same thing?

The only part number that I can find came with the commander (not the PFC). It is: FCC3 020-01835. Since the instructions are in Japanese, I'm not sure where the part number to the computer itself is.

it's the same thing.....only diff is the manual which u stated and apex usa won't warranty it.

Thanks guys. It still seems very strange to me that a commander with english text has a manual in Japanese!? Any explainations?

 

It's been a while since the PFC hit our shores, but I thought I remember the base maps for US versions were different than JDM PFC's due to the timing and the slighty higher octane in use over there.
