The boost meter on the main dash screen shows your intake’s gauge pressure.
Gauge pressure is the pressure measured relative to the ambient atmospheric pressure, meaning it should read zero when the pressure equals atmospheric pressure, such when the engine is still off.
As you may have noticed, this is almost never the case when reading boost on the Apexi FC Command, which can be off by several psi.The Apexi PFC does not have a barometric sensor and always assumes a fixed reference atmospheric pressure of 760mmHg (sea level value). Atmospheric pressure is considerably affected by changes in altitude. This means that the boost readings on the original Apexi Commander are not correct at any elevation other than at sea level. So, on cars driven in high altitude regions, the Apexi ECU will always read much lower gauge boost levels than actual, and this would inevitably result in overstressing the turbo by driving it beyond its boost rating and/or its maximum rotational speed limit.
The PFC Master uses the factory boost sensor to sample the atmospheric pressure before the engine is turned on, and then use this reading to give the corrected gauge boost readings during each journey. This guarantees that the turbos are always operating within their designed workload and RPM. RX-7 PFC Master automatic gauge pressure calibration
The PFC Master finally gets a dedicated GM style barometric pressure sensor. This sensor will allow the system to continuously monitor atmospheric pressure and display accurate gauge boost values even when one drives across cities located at drastically different elevation from each other. Without such sensor, the Apexi PFC (in its original form) would display wrong boost readings and at high elevations would also inevitably over-spin and potentially damage your turbo/s. Sensors are supplied with plug and play harness which connects directly to the PFC Master's I/O Extender unit. These barometric sensors are individually calibrated to within +/- 1mmHg. The PFC Master will also use this sensor to display the altitude above sea level (elevation) of your current position.
PFC Master firmware version v2.85 is now available for download. In this version, several visual and functional improvements have been added.
a) Some font sizes have been increased for better visibility
b) Main menu items can be shown with either keyboard shortcuts or without
c) Can now select to show either the estimated altitude above sea level or atmospheric pressure units from the optional barometric sensor
d) Added user programmable Td on and Td off for each I/O extender engine protection parameter.
PFC Master protection logic settings
Td on is the fault time required until the PFC Master triggers the alert and corrective action for that entry.
Td off is the time which the fault has to remain clear so that the PFC Master resets its alert and its respective corrective actions.
Despite of the simplicity of this settings page, the user can fully program all thresholds, timing and fueling or limp mode actions, and the delay times for all aftermarket sensors added to the system.
I bought the PFC Master and installed it this week. Couple of questions.
1) the manual link is for FD Tweak, Is there a manual more specific to the PFC Master?
2) When I first powered it up I was not able to get the screen "Car Configuration" with the picture of the RX7 in the background. How do I navigate to this screen?
3) I am still having idle learning issues. I have disconnected my battery, then did the warn up, 10min idle, 10min electrical load and 10 min AC then turn off ignition. When I restart the car. the idle still fluctuates. I did open the idle adjustment 1/2,
4) Where can I check the IAC value? and what should I be looking for.
Hi,
I'm sure the user manual link shown on the installation instructions is that for the PFC Master.
All owners can get free access to our official support group, link is on the user manual.
It's where owners should post any questions and you can also email me directly. Please contact me by email.
Season's greeting to all. Here is a free gift to all PFC Master owners. The PFC Master now displays the gear number on its main dashboard screen and allows you to configure an advanced shift-up light function with sound alert.
To get the new features update to the most recent firmware version v2.87. Please update the firmware twice in order to get some extra resource files required for this function.
The shift light is in the classic form of a 20 'led' bar, which converges to the center as you approach the shift up RPM. Once the whole bar lights up, it starts blinking and an optional sound alert with settable volume level will be emitted to your sound system.
You can either program one fixed RPM threshold (and bandwidth RPM) or even define specific engine speeds for each different gear. Always make sure you get the revised user manual to get the most out of your PFC Master.

Happy holidays!

Sorry if I missed something, but do you have a website? I dont use facebook and would like to see a list of your products/prices. Or is everything done through your email?

If you don't use FB, contact me via email at ingxborg on gmail. I can send you detailed information on any product in pdf format.
I've been using the PFCmaster and auto tune on my fd recently and the car has not ran smoother or reved as freely in the 20+ years I've had it. It also idles correctly for the first time ever including electrical load and A/C. Cannot recommend this enough.
I don't know which I like better the laptop is nice because I can see it better or the master so I don't need to have a huge 15" screen open and bouncing around in the seat.
