interface not responding...

tearing out my hair! Datalogit guys never respond any of their mails. They have sent me a USB to RS232 cable that I could not install the driver of it. I've tried all the drivers on the cd that they ve sent with no success on WIN98. than I decided to try it on a laptop installed Windows XP still no success. Both OSes can not recognise the device!

Lastly I decided to buy a serial cable with a converter on one side again it says interface not responding! I wish I have never bought this software!

Win 98 is not USB compliant, second edition made some attempts to support USB, but it is at best hit and miss (so no surprise it didn't work right). It should however work fine under XP.

Have you plugged the datalogit into a normal serial port? best to check the box is working before introducing the converter.

If it does work through the serial port then try using it through the converter on each of the ports (in FCEdit - Setup - Port - Com1..8 ) and see if it picks up on one of the higher port numbers.

I've had the same problems getting replies from Glen & co which cost them sales, but if you keep at it the odds are you will get a reply at some point.
