Datalogit question "interface not responding"
Can you datalogit guys help me out? I emailed glen and am trying to find out why I cannot seem to get on the Datalogit forum. So I am hoping for a quick answer. When I push monitor it reads "interface not responding. I have checked the plugs ect all seems ok? Any ideas?
Thanks

Do you have the correct Communications Port chosen? It's under Setup -> Port in the Datalogit. You might go into the Device Manager on your laptop and look under "Ports (COM & LPT)" and see which COM port number you should use. I use COM 3.
Other than that, and if your connections are good, I'm not sure what else to try.

Different Port
I will actually try them all. Previously I was at a tuning shop that also has a datalogit. The shop tried different settings and still could not get my datalogit to interface with my computer.
Thanks for the help.

What version of FC-Edit are you using. Look at the last tab on the software, the one marked "FC-Edit". Sometimes older versions of the software had the dreaded "INR" dialog box problems. On older versions (1.4-1.7) It also matters when you boot the software (euther before or after you start the car).

allan,
chances are good that, as jeff indicated, your sequence is off. i have forgotten, it is winter around here and it has been a while since i have been datalogging, but i had the same problem and it was solved by either starting the engine after i had opened the progam and selected monitor or before.
good luck,

I have to have the ignition off, cable connected, datalogit s/w running. Then I turn the key to have interface work.
When I get the "interface not responding" error, I just "key off" and "key on" to 'reconnect'. Works every time.
