Idle Re-learn

So I have been making some adjustments in my AAS and Idle Adjustment Screw along with the TPS. Thought it might be good to have the PFC re-learn it's idle. I reinitialized in the Datalogit, turned the key off and then on. Checked the INJ map in the Commander and saw all of the default INJ values back (my map had been recalced so INJ values are all zeros). Reloaded my saved map, verified INJ values were now back to zero and started the car.

I don't know if it re-learned or not. There was none of the varying rpms (1000 to 3000 etc.) like before. It just seemed to hold a steady idle at close to the number set in my map.

So on the second time is re-learn different?

Less variation in idle?

Where does the PFC store it's idle learn "knowledge"? In the map or somewhere else?

In my experience, when your throttlebody is set up well you will have less fluctuations during idle learn. Did you take a log with the Datalogit while you did the idle learn?

I often wonder that myself. I'm sure you would have to get deep into the code to figure that out. Maybe FastHatch or some of the others who have been disassembling the PFC would know.

You can have the PowerFC relearn the idle by saving the current map on your computer, then reset the powerfc and load your map back onto it.

edit: reading your post again, it seems you did that and yes it resets your idle.
