idle problem..searched...

My first time installing the PFC in my car it started up real rough and pours smoke and won't stay alive unless I keep applying gas..It did this for about 4 minutes until I just let it die. I read somthing about the idle calibration, but it didn't quite sound like that was my problem. COuld anyone give me instructions on what to set?

Page 23 of the manual. Verify that NORMAL is the active option. Do this by selecting, opening it, and then backing all the way out without opening options 1 through 4. If you open any of options 1 through 4 and think that you are only looking at it, you are wrong. The last one you open before getting off the menu is your active selection. NORMAL is for the stock map sensor!

The only other "parameters" that can affect your idle so badly is incorrect injector setting on page 25.

To add to what Chuck said (BTW, listen to Chuck, he is the most knowledgable PFC user that posts here), I would just completely re-initialize the PFC. That way, you know you are starting from the factory base maps and settings.

Did you buy the PFC used?
