idle before it warms up

OK, PFC is installed and when i start the car and it's cold, it goes to 800 RPM right away, should there be a time for a higher idle so the car can warm up?

Is there such a setting in the PFC or is it just the plunger thing on the throttle body that i have to adjust?

what about those who bypassed the throttle body coolant? does it mean their car will warm up only at 800 RPM?

thanks a lot

The Idle RPM you can set is the target RPM @ 80°C. The PFC has also an internal table "Idle RPM vs. Engine coolant temperature" so your idle should be higher if the coolant temperature is below 80°C.

If the AWS and HOT WAX ROD cold start systems have not been removed or disconnected, the car should start and idle normally like it does with the stock ecu.

Where is this table as I have never seen it for the RX-7?

Unfortunately not. It's one of those preprogrammed settings Apex'i thought we do not need access to.

Settings are made for -10, 20, 50, 80, 95 and 110°C.

As fas as i understand it the RPM settings are added to the idle RPM settings and therefore also to the fuel cut recovery settings.

I have a RX7 PFC here now so i should be able to pull the default settings in the next weeks.

I run an AP Engineering PowerFC on my R32 GTST.

That too on a cold start goes straight to its usual warm idle rpm.

pg 31 of the Pfc manual has a water temp correction table.

Otherwise you adjust the high idle with the wax rod screws.

One screw adjust peak rpm.

The other adjusts the idle down in steps as the temps increase (as the rod retracts)

The proceedure to check/adjust it is in the FSM
