Power FC I would like to be the first in saying the powerFC forum is quite dead
Chuck's pretty regular in here. I just haven't made it a regular stop yet on my nightly forum stop. Then when the wife gets home or right before I have to turn off the PC

Kyle Krutilek and I have a small PFC project in mind. We will do it sometime when we have more time. Maybe someone else will want to do it first.
It consists of using the mechanical idle set screw to hold the engine at not load rpms ranging from idle up to about 5000 rpm. Have the idle ignition timing control turned off. At each rpm set point, record the; leading and trailing ignition timing, and which timing cells it it running out of along with the cell values. Do for both IGL and IGT. Then change the values in the cell by a few points and again record all values.
The idea is to determine if the conversion algorithms are simple to understand and what relationships exits anywhere that can be observed.
If our Power Xl hackers get working faster, they
should be able to do the same but exactly correct.

sounds like a great project. would be very informative. I need to break in my new engine before I can start playing around with the FC though. I think lots of other people would chime in, but there is not much info out there to make you feel comfortable changing things other than maybe boost or something. It can be a bit intimidating, given that replacing an engine is not cheap (I think that is the biggest fear in mesing with the maps), but if more guys do things in a sensible and measured way, then we could all learn something, and start more projects. Hell, it would be a kick to see if we could get max HP with say 30mpg and never run lean (fantasy thinking here)
At least we could get as efficient as possible with increased reliable results.
