How to tell Commander version?

Hey guys. I bought a used commander a while ago and am now ready to buy the PFC, but I heard you need to make sure you hook up the right version/models?? Mine is about 2 years old. Is there any way to tell if it will work with the new PFC or will I need a older model used one? Please advise. Thanks!

I think you need to buy the PFC that works for the year of your car.... and as long as the commander is for mazada it can work on the fd.

I only know that the commander version is displayed each time I start my car. My commander version is 5.0.

I dont think you can tell without pluging it into a PFC. You are correct that the old versus new PFC and commanders are not compatible. I THINK that the newer commanders will work with any PFC for the older commanders wont work with a new PFC......its been a long time since I bought all this but it seems like this was the case.
