How much Knock on PFC is ok

Hi guys,

I am Breaking-in my newly rebuild engine with the Rotary aviation master rebuild kit...

On my Power Fc i have noticed that there is knock.. I mean i know it is supposed to be there but the highest reading i have seen on mine is 72 yet...in 260kms that i have driven the car..

I get knock during the time when i am in 4th or 5th gear at around 2500rpms and let off the accelerator then i see knock otherwise there is not much knock..

Is there something wrong...

Also my pfc came with some map from Japan but the guy who sent it did not even know my mods.. Can i load some other map with the help of the commander on the weekend??

i have the following mods

Apex-i N1 Cat Back
Apex-i Intakes
Apex-i power FC
Apex-i GT Spec Radiator
Knightsports downpipe
Greddy large SMIC

If the knock is just cruising then it is fine. If you are getting knock when you are boosting then it is a problem if it is high(50+)

To tune properly, I would suggest getting a datalogit from http://www.fc-datalogit.co.nz/

my pfc has read up to 200 before and my engine is ok. from what i've seen no two cars have similar knock readings. my car hits 50+ each time i get in it (but not while boosting). and my engine is fine.

usually when you le off the throttle after a hard run the knock will soar...i've seen 196 on mine before lol! Keep an eye on your commander while you accelerate and see if there is knock. XS tells me 80+is the safety limit, although with a ported motor, the numbers will be a lot higher due to more air moving through

I've read somewhere before that it is recommended that the sensor be properly secure and not loose. A loose sensor could give off false knock readings based on normal vibrations.

It all depends on how much noise your car makes. I have never had low readings on my car w/ different sensors. I've always vented my BOV and had an open intake.
