Ok so last night i was looking around the engine bay of my car. and i found out that my knock sensor had come loose to the point of being able to spin it by hand. Before finding this my knock readings were normal, peaking around 50-60 (still tuning).

So this morning I drive my car to work and at the end of the day tighten up the sensor hoping that it would bring my knock down some. I get in my car and get everything ready. start the car, hook up the laptop, start logging, and I seeing knock reading at 1 at idle. so all is cool....i take off and it jumps up over 100. the whole ride home it was about 118. peaked the highest of 170's but under boost it would drop way down into the 50-60-70 range.

Whats going on here....did I over tighten? is it a bad sensor?

Car drives normal....cursing AFR's are about 16-17 under boost around 11-12. I didnt change anything besides tightening the sensor

so it was reading over 100 when you were out of boost?

 

yeah normal cruising was about 118, I could rev it and it would go from 1 and pretty much the second i touched the gas it jumps to about 90 or so.

the car drove the same way in the morning on the way to work as it did coming home. only differance was the high knock readings. So i have a hard time thinking its knock...that and i heard no sounds of knock on top of that.
