help with power fc and single turbo / starting issues

Good morning guys,

as a few of you may know im building up a crashed FD. i have gone single turbo this week with the full kit. turbotecnics t62 ballbearing with .96 hotside.

i have bought a powerfc (s4) which was the newer version for my year of car 1992.
i installed the power fc and commander.
i re-set the ecu to standard values

i need to cut the 4 wires going to the back (although i didnt think this would stop it from running)

apon tempting to start the car the power fc starts up and works fine.
the engine turns over (cranking) but dosent start. now and again you can hear a fire but dosnt start.

i tried my old knightsport ecu in and it does the same (no start)

do i need to tell the powerfc that there is no twins?

ive read up that i need to switch the boost off as i will be running an AVCR boost controler... how do i do this?

any help would be much apreciated

thank you

Since it did not start with either ECU it is not a PFC issue.

Does your fuel pump prime?

Yes, you need to turn of the sequential twins. No, you do not want to turn the boost off/down on the PFC, this will cause you to hit fuel cut.

fuel pump primes, i can smell fuel from the exhaust. can i switch off sequential twind with the commander or do i need datalogic ? ok. i read thsat i just need to turn the values to about 1.25 (more than the map sensor can measure as its standard) this should stop fuel cut.

could it be a possible bad earth on the ecu / coil packs? i got rid of the rats nest and modified the coil bracket.?

what datalogic do i need? i want one

The sequential option can be changed with the commander.

Coils need to be ground, check for spark.

You could get away with NGK 9s, you can install the Denso 10's but they are much more expensive and not manditory for the power level.

Update

hi dudes and dudetts,

a bit of good news. i spent some time on the RX7 today. i took out the plugs 7's leading 9's trailing they were fouled by old fuel. i cleaned them up with the wire brush (i will buy new ones) and tested for spark. there is a GOOD spark. i put the plugs back in and turned it over and it started....... BUT

the hoor wont idle properly. i re-set the ecu a few times but didnt seem to learn. i adjusted the idle screw to fully in then half a turn out. no vacuume leaks. seems to be very lumpy and will occasionaly die down to 500 rpm then cuts out.AFR is around 11 i will cut the 4 wires then re-try.

i also have datalogit now. i was going to set idle to 0 then ajust the idle screw manualy to see if that works.

the car is single turbo
removed all solenoids including egr.
removed SIA

ill try re-set the ecu and disable the o2 sensor. apart from all that what else can i try?

thanks for help. im getting there. ive been reading lots of material to do with datalogit and setting it up but not having much luck
