Help with power fc

My car has an intake, downpipe, midpipe, and intercooler. It's leaning out because of the midpipe. I was going to buy an used pfc from a guy and then he was going to tune it, but he decided i shouldn't do it because i would have to get it tuned for different seasons every year and there was a chance my a/c wouldnt work. My question is could I buy a pfc and just use base/mod map on it or should i just swap the stock cat back on? Ive heard that the stock maps on the pfc shouldn't be used.

every car is different.

get a PFC and get someone to tune it. period. no guess work or leg work to find a map from someone with similar mods and still scratch your head as to why your car isnt running in top form.

Your in Lubbock..... Steve Kan and/or Rotary Performance is relatively close to you. I believe if you buy a PFC from RP they will give you a free tuning session.

A good tuner will set your map pretty conservative so that you wont have to retune every year/season unless you change something on the car that will change its airflow, fuel, ignition, and boost pressure.

there has been a workaround for the PFC for the A/C fix....
the a/c does work with the PFC, but only fan position 4 works, a quick wiring/solder job makes it work on all speeds.
And i believe this problem only affected 93 FD's, not too sure tho

you've done 4 major breathing mods that the stock FD ecu cannot adjust for. you are leaning out because you have too many airflow mods and im sure you dont have a way to control boost to stay at 10psi so you have boost creep.

Did you even upgrade the fuel pump and do the rewire mod?

You better give RP or Steve Kan@Kan Tuning a call asap before you risk your motor anymore than you already have.

Yes, swap the stock cat back on.

A PFC will not save you from Creep. Buy a PFC, a hi-flow cat (or port your wastegate) and have it tuned. A boost controller if you Spike. As long as you keep it at stock boost levels you don't need fuel mods.

I installed my own PFC and have A/C on two fan speeds....low and high. This has been sufficient for my purposes.

I forgot to say that i had a fuel pump. I haven't been boosting it since it was running lean. I guess i'll just take the midpipe back off. Also if I get RP or Steve Kahn to tune it, will the altitude difference be enough for the tune not be good anymore at lubbock altitude?

As mentioned above, I have AC on two fan speeds (2 & 4) which has been enough for me the past 3 or 4 yrs since installation. But you could check this........

Easiest that works on about 99.9% of the cars out there.
