Future PFC newbie question...

I might get a PFC with base maps... Will i need to tune it based on my mods?

3mm seals
GT Ported engine
dowel pinned
hardened stationary gears

Power Pulley
Pettit Intake
Down Pipe
Mid-Pipe
Cat-back
8.5# flywheel

Everything else is stock (IC, ignition, fuel pump, and injectors)

TIA

Jo

you can run the base maps but if you get it tuned you will make more power. i would wait till you get bigger injectors to pay for tuning of the pfc to save money in the long run. might want to get pfc boost kit with it so you are ready for more than 17.5 psi because your pfc will have to be retuned to get maps higher than 20psi. i wish i knew all this when i first got mine!

I mean right now i have a Pettit regular remapped ECU and was wondering if it was going to make a difference.

when you are at the point where you need more fuel or want to go single turbo i would suggest going powerFC or haltech etc. the pettit is a great unit that can get you into the 11's with good enough driving if you want to get pfc with base maps it will be fine. you will notice the car will idle and run alot smoother with pfc. if you have the $$$ pfc is nice but it depends how far you wanna go with your car.
