Fixed the idle problem. Now I have an electrical load issue.

I orten overlook the simple things. So a big thanks to everyone who told me to adjust my throttle cable. As soon as I did I had alot of ajustability in my idle. The new problem though seems to load related.

After that adjustment there was searching rpm varying sometimes 500 to 800 rpm. But never rose above 1500. Once wwrmed up it would settle just above 1000 but eventually go back to searching.

Today I made sure my o2 feedback was off and adjusted the TB screws for the plates and managed to get an 800-950 rpm idle. Tightening the screw closer to 950 gave me a more stable idle. All the way to 91 degrees c. and the fans came online. Then its back to hunting and searching, but between 900 or more to 1300 rpm.

Vacuum I can understand, but the load is confusing me. I have been studying the arghx thread here: https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=841706 for the last two days but havent fome across anything I can recognize as a load related idle issue.

I will xontinue reading of course but would anyone have any direction as to what this is of poijt me in the direction of the answere please?

what happens if you raise the electrical load idle speed? "Idle EL" try raising it 100, 200, 300 rpms. See if any of those make a difference.

I should also add that im a little concerned with my vacuum at the new idle speed. Its as low as 14 at some points. When the idle is raised it comes right up to 17 and holds with no problem. So I obviously have some more tracking down to do in the vacuum department I think.

Also is there any reason my oil pressure shouldnt be within normal opperating spec? I have looked over the lubricating system repeatedly and can find no leaks, the oil pressure switch is connected (have not checked voltage yet), and its topped off.

I have to be honest, I havent tried any of the suggested changes because...I no longer have that issue.

Dont know what changed other tgan I have been driving the car ever since I got my clutch in. The idle is just fine and my temps never go higher than 92c.

The car is still very rich and I am going to start reading thru the notes on how to make that adjustment without a datalogit. After leaning everything out its fine tuning until I get a setup im comfortable with.

I still have the cood start idle issue but thats more the adjustment screw and the arm itself being bent. Looking at swapping everything out later this week.
