FC3S Harness Question

Just a quick question about my power FC's harness before I try to fire up the car.

According to the sticker/serial number on the PFC it was originally for the FD (3rd gen), inside it has the removeable rom socket with an FC3S chip in it.

Now my question in reguard to the harness (AP Engineering), but it's been modified slightly. An additional conection has been added to the harness (on the power fc end), top most right hand pin (1A). On the stock ecu this is a 12v connection, do I need to connect this to 12v?

Cheers Guy's.

Well one of the wires is for the speed sensor. I'll have to check the voltage on mine and get back to you.

I just installed my yesterday, and it went pretty smooth.

I used an FD map sensor and the FD harness plug, cut my FCD off and spliced the wires together *They almost match in color*. This made a nice little harness I could remove if I need to and go right back to the stock FC pressure sensor and run the stock computer. Other then the IAT, which I can work around.

The FD intake sensor wire/harness from an FD matches the stock FC color wiring perfectly. The MR2 Boost control kit plugs right into the stock FC harness. I love this kit, It's super easy to install.

BTW, I'll be writing up an FAQ on how to install this, cause there are a few tricky parts. I had a friend translate the AP Engineering PFC Documents for the FC3s.

Also, you'll need to re-tap your stock IAT plug to M10x1.25 in order for the FD IAT to fit.

The base map on the AP Eng. PowerFC's does NOT work with the FC3s. It will run lean as soon as you try to boost and you WILL detonate.

*EDIT* it appears you got the Apexera map sensor, lucky you, that's plug and play

f1blueRx7 : Yere's it VERY easy to install. Easiest part of the whole car I've done so far

I'm actually don't think I have a genuine AP engineering unit, just the harness and a re-chipped FD ecu. It's just annoying since I bought this 2nd hand from japan, it doesn't come with a hand controller. Can't check if it's functioning properly or not

Haven't been able to find a 3rd gen PFC pinout to confirm that 1A is a 12v connection on it.

As for stock maps, waste of time for me anyway. Though having 98 octane fuel here is pretty handy

Pin 1A on FC and FD ECU's are both 12V source.
