the ecu wont be faulty, it needs time to save changes when u turn the car off, some immobilisers and alarms can cut the direct power to it, not allowing it long enough to save its tune data changes.

there are two potential issues

1) cant save changes,ie you make a change to the map / settings and they get reverted to how they were when power is turned off. this is the ignition being cut to the powerfc and it doesnt have time to save its changes at power off

2) all tables appear with 0's in them. the powerfc has been locked by datalogit or apexi software. you need to reset it to factory defaults or have apexi software/datalogit unlock it

i know.... its locked...... i figured that out on monday but thanks. if its locked and someone were to re intialize the system does it revert to stock settings you cant read or does it being locked prevent it from re initializing.

my understanding of it is that it will reset to factory defaults (you will loose the tune) and it shouldnt be unlocked anymore. this is not confirmed, but only what i would expect would happen
