Fast-acting IAT = remap?

If you install a fast-acting IAT, this basically requires you to retune the car, right?

Or at least check the tune with a wideband to be safe?

Depends how close to the edge you are. Definitely need to make sure the voltage output is the same as the sensor it's replacing.

the FC Tweak does change the air temp table if you change the sensor.
and then since the faster sensor will actually be useful, you should at least verify that the mixtures are consistent with temps

oh and probably just need to change the air temp vs fuel table

It does not require a retune. You install it and move on.

Short answer is it depends. Longer answer:

Does the new sensor have the same voltage (or resistance) vs. temperature calibration curve as the sensor it's replacing? If not, you'll need to get that calibration data and program it into the ECU you're using so your ECU responds to changes in IATs correctly. Specifics on how to do that depend on the ECU platform obviously.

All other factors being the same, the faster sensor response time in itself would not require any additional tuning.

If you move it from under the UIM to the TB elbow or IC outlet, you most likely will need to change the Settings 2 INJ vs Air Temp table.
I drove cruising at the same place and speed with the same weather conditions before and after my ATS move. You can log or just look at the monitor.
My air temp reading did lower enough to require changing the table.

The table is just a ratio or % difference of air density. 40C is the base line or 100% point.
Just remember that the stock values are just for the stock undersized IC and should not be used with a fully modified engine setup as the values are not matched to true density but the crappy stock setup.

So you’re good to go if you leave it in the stock location?
