easiest way to lean out

i have to get the car smogged but i only need to pass the sniffer no visuals to worry about and she is running rich i was thinking of leaning it out on the lower rpms just for the test then put it back to normal tune before driving off if i were to do this whats the best way i read the manuel and found the part about fuel injection map and you can change the percent at certain rpms would this be a work around for the 15 minutes i need to lean it out a bit or is there a better option thanks in advance

here's a good thread for reference: https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...needed-841706/

At low loads and speeds as you lean the mixture out, your CO will decrease. However the engine will begin to misfire as you get leaner, so your HC will go up and you could still fail. Most likely you would still fail both. Engine-out HC is created by unburned fuel (from misfire, cold temperature & poor vaporization, flame quenching, etc). CO, for our purposes is created exclusively by a rich mixture.

There's a reason why Mazda put in an airpump in the first place. Is your airpump installed and working correctly? If you are failing CO & HC, you've got a cat that's not working right and/or you've got an airpump that's not working right. Generally speaking you can't pass without both of those functioning.
