Question Distinguishing an 8bit PFC from Serial Number Alone

I was browsing through some auction sites for the 8bit PFC for my 3rd gen 91-95 model but only information I'm given in the auction is the serial number, as it is all in Japanese. How would you be able to tell from this serial number alone that this is the right PFC for my car as I'm aware there are 3 versions avalaible for the 3rd gen and I dont want to end up buying the 16bit later versions.

Cheers

AFAIK all PFCs have a 16-bit CPU, the older ones the NEC 78K3 and the newer ones the 78K4.

Just for some confusion - in Japan, they frequently refer to the '92-95 ECU's as 8-bit, and the later ECU's as 16-bit, which is true. It's kind of a fallacy to refer to the PFC's as the "8-bit version" - that just means it works on the earlier cars.
