I feel your pain

Hey Stephen
Same scenario. Took my car for a test spin with a friend. Got back and it idled steady at 900 but real lumpy. I took my car to RP today and they confirmed what I thought....blown.
Can you spell warranty?????? I can(thank God).
I needed a new clutch anyways and there going to throw one end with no labor charge since its going to be broken down anyways.
If you can't tell, I'm just trying to make myself not realize that this SUX.

Unhappy can't tune using o2 sensor

SPOautos,

Sorry to hear about that, I did the same thing in June. I just pulled my P-FC and mailed it to XS to get it roughed in.

I don't remember too good but a good source told me the 02 sensor is not used at WOT, it's just reading the maps. I don't know but I do know mine let go with WOT readings over .91. Funny thing is I had just dialed out about 5% from everything over 4k and was running 13 psi.

With out seeing the base maps we can't compare. So basically, I don't think the end user tuning feature of the p-fc has any real value. A dyno and wide band o2 sensor is needed, and the "maps" are only adders to the base maps, which we can't see, so what's the point of the "maps". I call "marketing scam".

Don't get me wrong. I still like the 16 bit processor and nice smooth controll of the p-fc, I just think the end user tuning implied is bullshit

Better luck with the next motor

Yea, I've set my power FC back to the way it was when xs tuned it so I dont blow my new motor.

Crazed, I didnt have a warrenty but with the help of a friend I'm going to be able to pull it, rebuild it, put the new on in over the weekend. Were going to street port it too. The total cost to rebuild is going to be about $400. Its nice to have a best friend with a shop that know how to rebuild and street port a engine!!!!

Later,
