Unhappy Datalogit question.

have a PFC,commander, and datalogit can anyone tell me what I need to change - >>

I have an RX6 kit, got a map for it that is set for 550x1300 injectors. I have 850x1600 injectors. What do i need to change(besides the injector size setting already did that). My car runs very rich right now, and as soon as I start to make boost (1psi - 4psi) the knock readings start to spike so I immediately let off. I don't know what this means or what to do about it. All I know is that it's not good. The car idled bad before and then once I turned down the PIM % to about 80% that smoothed it out a bit thats all I've really done

But honestly i don't know what the hell to do(very frustrating, usualy things come easy to me). I just wish there was a big button that said "fuel" or "A / F ratio" and I could just turn it down a little and my car would run leaner. Wouldn't that be nice !!! I'm not dumb and I have alot of mechanical comon sense so if some one could just explain to me what to do I would really appreciate it.

thanks
Ray

Firstly, who did you get your map from?

Not surprised you can lean it out that much at idle, just be careful to not do the same under boost unless you are monitoring your AFRs.

Suggest you find someone local to help with the datalogit or pm me and send a copy of your datalogit map. I'm sure others will offer to help as well.

Its like I said when I sent you the maps....The maps are going to be pretty useless to you because of the injector size differences. I also told you that they are going to be difficult to impossible for anyone else to interpret since the base maps have been RECALCULATED.

I was under the impression you wanted them more for "no negative split" timing examples than for a starting place for tuning your own car.

Spiking knock sensor readings alone are unreliable as indications of detonation related knock. If you have access to a WB, AFR's will help tell the story.

This is the problem with trying to use other people's maps. Look at it this way, at least you are running rich.

My suggestion is to start over with the original maps and send me and others your logs. Keep eveything conservative because without WB analysis its going to be pretty much hit and miss based on injector duty.

Overall twok's advice is the best----find someone locally to tune the car properly. You can even do some "dyno and tune" time using the dyno WB report against the datalogit logs that you run while on the dyno. Match the acceleration curves and superimpose the AFR curve to give you a rough estimate of the AFR in each cell.

Stay in touch
