Question Datalogit for the non tuner?

I was wondering if you guys who are running the datalogit, think it would be a good purchase for someone who does'nt do to much tuning? When the time comes, I plan on having Ralph Friend at GroundZero tune my FD/to4s. I don't mind doing some tuning, but I'm going to leave it upto someone who knows what he's doing. Anyways, I was thinking about getting one, and wanted your guys opinions. Later, CJ

One of the main reasons I bought Datalogit was to have a boost control switch easily accessible - its a pain to change boost on the Commander when you need it in a hurry. I use an extra foglight switch for hi/lo boost.

I don't have a laptop yet but I welded in an extra O2 bung and plan to get the DIY wideband so that I can datalog and keep tabs on how its running. I'm sure I'll end up with a better understanding of how certain things operate from being able to study the logs.

I was'nt worried about boost control as I'm running my Profec B.

Jason, I'd realy hate to try to explain to Rob why I've gone through 2 motors in 3 months before I got it right. Not to mention my wife. I feel comfortable tuning a non turbo engine, (I've done 3 over the years.) all you do is lean them out, until the power starts to drop off. Then richen it up a bit. If I where to do that with a turbo motor....there would be alot of broken parts. Later, CJ

Either pay to get it tuned once or start with someone's good start map (build a relationship with someone who will hold your hand through remote tuning assuming you get a WB like Jason said).

I don't think ANYONE should pay for tuning more than once, if they have a WB and Datalogit. On top of that, if you build the relationship with the right person, they will probably support you through it all.
