Datalogit Map Trace Not Working
Any ideas?
For some reason about 8 months ago the map trace function stopped working in fcedit on my laptop. Before I resort to a format and reinstall of windows does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be? (Dell didn't supply me with an install disc, or I would have done this before now)
Have tried different versions of FC Edit, different USB->Serial adapters, etc with no solution. Both rpm and boost are read in correctly and appear on logs. Plug in a commander and map trace works on it, use a different laptop and again map trace comes back to life so there is something on my laptop causing this, just no idea what.
The machine is a Dell Inspiron 1100 running Windows XP Home, with very little else installed on it - all windows updates, latest drivers, techedge & fcedit software & wireless card and that's about it (only used for internet access and mapping).
Have virus & spyware checked it and it has a clean bill of health,

It might be the setup of FCEdit, I have had this happen before and found that the selected MapRep under the Options pulldown had been changed. Don't know how this happens but it does occasionally. In Mapwatch, go to the Options pulldown and try both options under MapRep, Advanced and Logged ... let us know it that does it.

What did you find?
I tuned a car today and had to switch my settings from Advanced to Logged to get Mapwatch to display the logged values by P&N cell. I'm not complaining, I love having this software for <$400,even with the bugs it's a steal.

Sorry, just got around to it tonight - having the car battery in my living room was hindering my attempts :o
That did fix it, thanks Had to change the settings back and forth a few times and tick the boxes on the monitor window, but it did the job - if only I had known a year ago it could have saved my last engine.
Can finally take the car out next weekend and do a few boost & AFR watches so when the vmic & dowpipe go on I can see the differences.
Thanks again
